Submissions
The International Journal of Forgery Studies publishes peer-reviewed research on the making, detection, and study of forgeries — forged texts, documents, and objects, invented histories, and fabricated news. We read work on any period and any form, provided the forgery itself, or the problem of detecting it, is the object of study.

- Research articles 8,000–12,000 words Double-anonymous review
- Research notes 3,000–4,500 words Double-anonymous review
- Documents & sources up to 8,000 words Read by the editors and one reader
- Book reviews 800–1,200 words By commission; proposals welcome
Preparing a manuscript

Prepare a single PDF
All figures and tables in place, paginated throughout. On acceptance we will ask for editable files.

Anonymise for review
Remove your name from the manuscript and document properties; supply author details on a separate title page.

Abstract and keywords
An abstract of about 150 words and up to five keywords, in English.

Citations
The Chicago Manual of Style (notes and bibliography). British or American spelling, consistently applied.

Figures
At least 300 dpi, in TIFF or JPEG, with a numbered list of captions supplied separately.
Review
Submissions are read first by the editors; those sent out receive two anonymous reports, typically within three months. Revised articles are re-read by the original readers. We do not consider work that is simultaneously under review elsewhere.
The journal is published by the International Society for Forgery Studies.
